The Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City is an urban section of the city that retains some suburban features due to its location near the city line. Because of these features it has become a relatively popular place for people who can’t afford to live in Manhattan but work in Manhattan to find housing, as well as a place for people who commute into New York City from the Suburbs to leave their car and take public transportation into the city. It is accessible to the rest of the city yet is far enough away from downtown that it doesn’t suffer from the incredible traffic and congestion of more central areas. This means that monthly parking found in Washington Heights is less competitive and less expensive than parking found elsewhere and, because of the great location of garages in the area, you can leave your car and hop on the Metro which will have you downtown in just a few minutes. On-street parking is limited in the area—just as it is throughout much of the rest of the city—by two hour parking limits and strict parking enforcement, but luckily in Washington Heights you have the opportunity to find convenient and affordable garage or lot parking that will help you avoid the hassle of street parking. Parkingspotter.com has one of the most thorough listings of parking lots and garages in the area so that you can find exactly the parking that you need.
